Healthy Church Healthy Belize is a ministry that is birthed from a need to see the churches in Belize grow. This ministry was started by Hubert and Cheryl Stephen. For ten years, Hubert pastored a church in his hometown of Dangriga, Belize. It was clear the church needed help that was not readily available. This was the first phase of what became this ministry. During the initial time of prayer, it became clear that we needed to focus on the entire country. Therefore, we are not only concerned with the church, but also the community and the country. We also felt it would be better to do more than just church work. There is a need to see the communities get help as well. HCHB’s main mission is to provide the resources (assistance) to the churches in Belize (spiritually, physically, medically) so as to give them the tools needed to be effective in their ministry.
The vision of HCHB is as follows:
- To visit Belize with teams: Ministry teams, Work teams and Medical teams.
- To edify, encourage and strengthen believers (all at the same time).
- To provide spiritual, physical and medical help.
- To establish a ministry that is committed to seeing the churches in Belize grow (individually and congregationally).
- To help in the education of pastors and leaders in basic church (every day) operations.
As we do this, the churches will in turn take responsibility for their own welfare and reproduce this ministry in other areas, as the Lord leads.
