From the HCHB President
November, 2007
Hi Family and Friends,
I can’t believe that it’s a month already since Cheryl and the Doctors came back from Belize. We had a meeting with Dr. Chaudry and it was most informative. We both agreed that we need to be more pro-active in the approach to healthcare in Belize. With the system that Dr. Chaudry and Cheryl started developing when they were in Belize, we began to see the need to be teaching and training the staff that is at the hospital there. We went ahead and wrote them concerning some of the training/teaching we would like to do. These sessions will be for both staff and patients. We hope to do some of the training when we go in February, 2008.
At this point we are waiting on one of the Doctors to commit to going, and then we will put together the rest of the team. We already have persons waiting to know what the actual date is.
I don’t know if we mentioned this before, but we get asked all the time what is the smallest group we would take. That number is 4 people. We are still looking for a van to take to Belize for us to use there. At this point, I would prefer a diesel van. We still have some things that we need to ship down to Belize before we leave here. We hope to have the supplies there before too long.
We are so thankful for family and friends who send their tax deductible gifts to the ministry. We know that before we know what is happening, the end of the year is here. So here is my little sales pitch. Are you looking for a ministry to help over the Christmas holiday? Why not send your gift to Healthy Church Healthy Belize? Before you get to Christmas though, there is another other holiday called Thanksgiving. We are so thankful for all that God has done for us this year. We were once again able to take two teams to Belize in one year and send thousands of supplies there. God has been so good to us as a family and as a ministry and we continue to depend on Him as we move forward.
God bless,
Hubert Stephen
