From the HCHB President
January, 2008
Greetings
To some of you the stress of the holiday season was a bit much others it was just as normal, whichever way it went for you, I hope you served or hosted with the best attitude. I know that God only gives us what HE knows we are capable of handling, nothing more or nothing less.
For us as a ministry, it’s been one of those months where we thought we had all the plans worked out, but now we begin to realize that we don’t. For some reason, the medical side of the ministry is going to have to take a back seat to the ministry side of the ministry. We found out that all the dates we had for medical teams are used by other groups we didn’t know visited Belize. So now, we plan for the ministry teams that we have been working on for a while. In April, we hope to take a couple of pastors and assistants down to encourage the leaders of the church. We believe that this is the appropriate time to do so.
We know that some people were disappointed, but we only can go when it suits the hospital in Belize and the Doctors here. We continue to covet your prayers for this ministry and for the churches in Belize. I believe that the churches are at a pivotal point in the history of the nation. They will have stand up and take a stand against the looseness of the country. They can become a part of the solution or stay the same course and do nothing. Every day I read the news from Belize and hear about the” SOULS” that are lost to gun violence or the domestic abuse and I keep hoping and praying that the church will step forward, and be a voice for the lost, the fatherless; motherless; children and bring hope to the disheartened. I believe now is the time. On the 7th of February, the country will hold their general election where they will elect a new Prime minister, and other officials. I ask you to pray for the church and its leaders, and that God would give them a voice to speak up against the injustice that’s been happening in the country.
The last time we were there, we had to pay tax on the equipment we were bringing to help them. The equipment was left there for them. All this while the church sits there and says nothing. They will soon get to the point where they will have to register to have church gathering.
Please continue to pray for us and the different people that want to go along.
Thanks for being apart of this ministry, and blessings to you.
Hubert Stephen
