Greetings all!
Winter has been light on snow for those of us who enjoy the transformation the landscape undergoes when the white flakes start falling. This was the first winter that we did not take a team to Belize. The two medical teams never came together as we were planning, due to scheduling conflicts between the hospital in Belize and our physicians here. Cheryl also had to cancel the follow-up medical team because she underwent surgery on her right shoulder. Pray for us as we set up more scheduled trips with the hospital in Belize.
We are excited to still take a ministry team in late April. Hubert will organize the final details over the next few weeks. If you or someone you know would like to minister to the church leaders and intercede for them in prayer, please contact us as soon as possible. This team would be in Belize for a little over a week.
We have been challenged to be flexible in this ministry, and sometimes this is easier said than done for us than others. We’d like you to know that there were no problems with the elections in Belize and thank you for praying. Please pray that the leaders will seek God’s will as they serve their fellow Belizeans.
Why we ask you to pray for the government is because Belize has what we call universal government health care. In the past, we had to pay import duty on the items we donated to them. We do not believe that this is fair, but we need the equipment in order to do our work which we believe God has called us to do. So now, we are hoping this new administration will be different.
We ask for your prayers for:
- For this ministry and the board of directors
- God’s leading in the lives of the new government officials
- Ministry team details to come together soon
- Open communication with the hospital in Belize re: team scheduling
