From the HCHB President
Greetings Family and Friends,
This is the time of the year when the presidents of organizations tell everyone how good the company or organization has done. For us, it has not been a good year, but it also gives me hope that things will get better. I guess some might say I am an optimist. Nevertheless I will try to convey my sentiments to you.
We haven’t taken any teams to Belize because we have no one that really wanted to go. I did help a couple teams make connections in Belize, but that’s all I did. This year Cheryl and I went to Belize on some personal business and we met with an attorney there to discuss setting up our organization there the same as it is here. We are still waiting on the attorney for the papers that are filed. We know that once this is set up, we would like to start campaigning to take teams there. We really struggle with taking the right ministry team there. We know that the medical and work teams aren’t as crucial as the ministry teams.
I am hoping to take a team as soon as we get the paperwork back; I just have to remember even in the U.S. things take time when dealing with the government.
I know this is to be a happy time of the year, it’s the season we Christians celebrate the Savior’s birth. I was just reading that story in Luke and Matthew and I could just see these two people in such stress. Joseph knowing that he had not been with his fiancé in a sexual way and Mary not sure how to respond to the angel. How stressful and frightened they must have been, but you know what? That is when God works best, when we leave everything to Him and give Him the opportunity to work. That is when we can truly see GOD. Because of these two willing individuals, we have a Savior. We can celebrate His birth, death and resurrection. We can call ourselves Christians and we can make a difference in this world we live in. I hope that if you are reading this that you desire to, or pray that you will, want to make a difference. We don’t all get to be on TV or see ourselves in other such like, but Jesus made a difference and He told us that we will do even greater things. I just want to help pastors in Belize have more access to good reading material, to have a mentor or someone that they could share with. With that in mind I would like to extend an invitation to you, if you love to listen to people talk, that you would consider going with me to Belize in April of 2012. If you are still looking for a place to share your year-end giving, then why not consider us, we are a non-profit, and your gift would be tax deductible.
Prayer requests:
- For the attorney to get the papers back
- For listeners to go in April
- For good study/encouraging books to give the Pastors
Thank you for your prayers and support,
Hubert Stephen
P.S. Please pray that the finances come in to help pay for the procedures that Hubert’s mom had that was beyond what the hospital already discounted.
