Healthy Church Healthy Belize is a non-profit ministry designed to meet the needs of the Belizean people spiritually, medically and physically. Click on the links at the top of the page for more information on each team.There are different types of teams that will be traveling to Belize to minister to the Belizean people.

When planning a trip to Belize, there are many things to consider. The official language of Belize is English.The main language spoken is English, but there are many other languages spoken in homes and also in public. Your personal safety in the country is good. U.S. money can be spent there and the food and water are safely prepared for you. There is plenty of opportunity when on one of the teams to meet and get to know the local people. Belize is a Central American country, but it is more the flavor of most of the Caribbean islands.

It only takes about four and a half hours to fly to Belize. The climate is decidedly tropical and warm. Medical team with nurses from BelizeThere are times when the not so friendly mosquito can be a bit more of a nuisance. Portions of Belize are rain forest, some are tropical beaches and other areas are wetlands called mangroves. There is a variety of landscapes for all tastes.

To travel to Belize, you only need a valid U.S. passport. Some people prefer to get malaria medication to treat prophylactically, but most tropical immunizations are not necessary. Plan to travel as lightly as possible and keep plenty of space to bring back souvenirs of your trip. Cameras are a good idea. Electrical voltage is the same as in the U.S., so all appliances will work just as easily in Belize. You only need a valid U.S. passport to travel to Belize.Some people prefer to also bring a member of their family along to volunteer as well, and this help is always appreciated. There is always room for additional help on these trips. Housing for the trip can be both hotel and local housing (at the Stephens' home). Food is prepared for the team by health conscious people.

There is always time planned to tour parts of Belize and have relaxation time. There may be trips to the Cayes where you can fish, swim, dive and snorkel.There may be trips to the Cayes (a chain of islands just off the coast of Belize) where you can fish, swim, dive and snorkel. There may also be trips to the rain forest to visit the Maya ruins, waterfalls, caves, jaguar reserve, or for horseback riding. Travel within the country is by road (paved), airplane and boat.

Some individuals going on the trips are able to pay for their trip outright, while others will need their church or family and friends to help sponsor their trip.
